Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the experience the experience of labor training and socialization of a person with hearing impairment in a special educational institution. The history of the development of solving the problem of socialization of children with special educational needs from the 15th to the 20th century is presented. In modern conditions, more and more children with hearing loss enter the mainstream education in the mainstream due to the improvement of the technology of hearing aids and cochlear implants. The article presents the strategy of labor training and socialization of the individual at the Kostanay school – a boarding school for children with hearing impairments. For the purpose of early inclusion of pupils in social and labor activity, a structured system has been created – a vocational training center. Its functioning contributes to the improvement of labor training and the socialization of the individual. By the end of boarding school 46, 7% of graduates have a sufficient level of formation of professionally significant personality traits, work skills, 53.3% are high, which confirms the readiness of graduates to have a professional education in college. College is an important agent for continuing to improve the quality of life of hearing impaired teens. In Kostanay College of Road Transport, 17 graduates of a boarding school for children with hearing impairments are studying in the specialty “Maintenance, repair and operation of road transport”. Students successfully master theoretical and practical material, responsibly treat classes. By the end of college, they have an average score of 4.2 – the same as the average for the college, they successfully adapt to production teams due to qualities such as hard work, honesty, decency, and accuracy.
