Abstract

AbstractIt is known that the main consumers of reactive power are electrical machines and electric drives, which are widely used in various mechanisms of industrial enterprises. Reactive power is necessary to create magnetic fields in electric machines, but not accounting or excessive consumption of reactive power leads to a decrease in the power factor of the power supply system, which will negatively affect the power system as a whole. Therefore, the study of methods and methods of reactive power compensation is an urgent issue, for the solution of which an integrated approach is required. The article presents the results of the experience of reactive power compensation at industrial enterprises, and also proposes a methodology for carrying out measures to compensate for reactive power. The article analyzes in detail the main problems in industrial enterprises due to consumers of reactive power. A methodology for calculating and choosing reactive power compensators for industrial enterprises is proposed, which differs from other methods with simplicity and availability in practical conditions for use.KeywordsIndustrial facilitiesPower supply systemReactive power compensation
