Abstract

Objective To explore the value of intraoperative cholangiography. Methods The clinical data of 66 patients receiving intraoperative cholangiography during open cholecystectomy from January 2004 to December 2007 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. Results Of the 66 patients, 9 suffered from stone, 2 from gallbladder carotid occlusion and 55 had no stone. For the latter 55 patients, 1 had gallbladder duodenal fistula. The bile duct injury was found promptly in 9 patients. Three patients had small cystic duct and long gallbladder. All the 66 patients were cured by different approaches. Conclusion Use of intraoperative cholangiography can reduce unnecessary open exploration of the common bile duct, timely detec biliary anatomic variations, deformity, damage, tumors to prevent unclear anatomy and heavy inflammation in patients with bile duct injury. Key words: Cholangiography; Laparotomy; Residual stone; Bile duct injury
