Abstract

The article describes the first results of a digital project dedicated to the preservation and systemization in the form of a dataset of crumbling reindeer rock carvings in the valley of the Pegtymel River for subsequent data development by other researchers. The collection, processing and cataloging of reindeer images were carried out, methodological aspects of clustering of features for the classification of reindeer were determined. The authors also attempt to solve the scientific problem of cultural clusters identification of Pegtymel petroglyphs based on the style of depiction of reindeer: by dates of creation, belonging to culture and people, differentiation of individual style and a single typology.
