Abstract
OOO Thermochem (Chernogolovka, Moscow oblast) is engaged in the development and production of gauze supported catalysts with active metal phases (e.g., platinum, palladium, chromium, cobalt, nickel). Several Russian Federation patents have been issued, technical specifications have been approved, and pilot industrial production is currently under way. Since 2005, these catalysts have been introduced into practice at eight Russian enterprises. The catalysts are used at the ammonia oxidation stage at certain Russian enterprises producing weak nitric acid in AK-72 (3.5/11 kgf/cm2), UKL-7 (7.3 kgf/cm2), and atmospheric pressure (1/3.5 kgf/cm2) units; in the production of hydroxylaminesulfate; and in units for the catalytic after-burning of industrial gaseous wastes. They can also be used in hydrogenation, the afterburning of internal combustion-engine exhaust, and the refining of crude oil.
