Abstract

Experimental results for the expansion of a fluidized bed operating at pressure (1–15 bar) and high temperature (20°–600°C) are presented for particles belonging to groups B and D. The influence of the diverse variables on bed expansion is analysed. Furthermore, a semiempirical model has been developed which allows the prediction of bed expansion as a function of a new parameter, the “expansion coefficient”.
