Abstract

We review the characteristics of exotic mesons consisting of interacting massless up and down quarks, antiquarks and gluons in the lowest cavity modes of a spherical cavity. The single particle energies and two-body interactions of the partons are described in the framework of perturbative cavity QCD at the tree level. Predictions for the masses and quantum numbers of baryonium ( q 2 q 2 ), glueballs ( g 2, g 3 and g 4 and hybrids ( q qg, q qg 2 and q qg 3 ) are discussed based on a unified description within the M.I.T. bag model.
