Abstract
Health And Medicine Exosomes, also known as extracellular vesicles, are a promising vehicle for the delivery of bio molecules directly to cells. Choi et al. apply a previously developed, optogenetically engineered exosome system (EXPLOR) to load an inflammatory response inhibitor into exosomes. The use of these exosomes in a mouse model of sepsis provided protection from systemic inflammation and sepsis-induced death. Sci. Adv. 10.1126/sciadv.aaz6980 (2020).
