Abstract
Purpose: From 2016 to 2019, we performed a clinical study of regenerative medicine using allogeneic chondrocyte sheets derived from the surgical remains of young polydactyly patients (PD sheets) with the purpose of establishing a definitive therapy for osteoarthritis of the knee (OAK). To date, 1-year follow-ups have been completed for the ten patients who underwent allogeneic transplantation of PD sheets; no serious adverse events have been detected, and positive results such as improvement in clinical symptoms and cartilage structure have been obtained.
