Abstract

Electronic transmission in a slowly varying delta-function potential V( χ) = Σ n V n δ( χ− χ n ) (where V n = λcos(2 πn γ Q)) with inhomogeneous period exhibits the novel feature of re-entrant localization through the cross-over states. Indication of intermediate non-decaying or slowly decaying states present in between extended and localised states at different energies are some of the additional features reported in this paper. A multifractal analysis for the normalised transmittance has been used to characterise the different types of states obtained in this model.
