Abstract

There are many reports of the effects of fatiguing muscle contraction on corticospinal and intracortical excitability of the projection to the exercised muscle. In contrast, very few reports deal with how exercise of one muscle group influences excitability in projections to non-exercised muscles. Here we examine the effects of leg muscle fatigue on MEPs and intracortical inhibition (SICI) and facilitation (ICF) in relaxed biceps and first dorsal interosseous (FDI) muscles of the right arm.
