Abstract

Introduction: Increased homocysteine concentrations are associated with decreased cognitive performance in older people and are an independent risk factor for the development of dementia. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of moderate intensity aerobic exercise and folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6 supplementation on homocysteine concentrations in older community dwelling adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods: This was a randomized, placebo-controlled trial with a two-by-two factorial design.
