Abstract

Religious disagreements take place in a context of general epistemic and metaphysical approaches to religious diversity. There are a number of such approaches to religious diversity that present views about the purpose, aim, commonality, and object of the religions. Some of the most popular ones include exclusivism, inclusivism, pluralism, and postmodernism. The approaches influence how people engage in religious disagreements, telling people what should be the ultimate outcome of them, how to understand them, whether they can even be resolved, and, if so, how. Because the approaches provide the background of any religious disagreement, it is essential to get more acquainted with them.1KeywordsTrue BeliefReligious DiversityEpistemic SituationWorld ReligionGrand NarrativeThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
