Abstract

Abstract In his paper on cephalopods from the west coast of Norway Grieg (1933) reported Graneledone verrucosa (Verkill, 1881) as occurring in Norwegian waters. According to Grieg 3 specimens were caught in 1931 and 1 specimen in 1932 near the Biological Station at Herdla. On examining the material of Eledone cirrosa in the Zoological Museum in Bergen Grieg found 4 specimens which he considered as Graneledone verrucosa: 2 specimens from Bergen without further references, 1 specimen from Herdla taken c. 1900 and i specimen from a locality near Mandai (on the south coast of Norway), caught in 1925. All the specimens mentioned above were found in depths from 20–200 metres.
