Abstract
The exclusion of methods for treatment of the human or animal body by surgery found in Article 52(4) of the European Patent Convention (EPC) will be subject to clarification by the Enlarged Board of Appeal pursuant to a referral by a recent decision of a Technical Board of Appeal of the European Patent Office.
