Abstract

Analyze the exclusion and discrimination of the LGBTIQ+ group that exists within the Ecuadorian Health System. Determine the incidence of violence, discrimination and exclusion by health professionals in the country. Materials and methods: Study based on the systematic review of the literature, in which the following databases were taken into account (Medline, PubMed, Scielo, Embase, Google Scholar, Scopus), where different articles based on the issue. Results: The articles were filtered taking into account inclusion and exclusion criteria, and finally there were 14 articles that met the initially established criteria. Conclusions: There are obstacles at the institutional and human resource level, which lead to some LGBTIQ+ people not being able to access comprehensive health care and, on the contrary, experiencing acts of discrimination. It is recommended that the INEC develop a statistical analysis again to know exactly the changes since 2013 regarding discrimination, violence and exclusion of the LGBTIQ+ group within the National Health System.
