Abstract

The energy spectrum of elementary excitations in superfluid helium is derived on the basis of arguments based on a model for the liquid structure. The spectrum consists of two branches: the Landau-Feynman branch and a new branch, above the Landau-Feynman branch, whose central part has been observed experimentally by Iwamoto.
