Abstract

The paper contains symmetry analysis and classification of the excitons (Frenkel excitons - FEs - and Charge Transfer Excitons - CTEs) in anthracene-like two-dimensional model taking into account the symmetry of the monoclinic axis, the inversion center and the glide plane. The symmetry permitted combinations of CTEs and their coupling with dipole active FEs are studied. These circumstances govern the excitonic spectra and their manifestation in linear absorption. Green functions method is applied to find linear optical susceptibilities and excitonic spectra with polarization along the monoclinic axis or perpendicular to it.
