Abstract
It is shown using the model of an exciton formed by spatially separated electron and hole (the hole moves in the bulk of a quantum dot (QD) and the electron is localized above the spherical interface between the QD and the insulator matrix) that an energy band associated with exciton states (formed by the spatially separated electron and hole) appears in the band gap of cadmium sulfide nanoparticles.
