Abstract

AbstractThis work addresses the mid‐infrared properties of cuprous oxide and in particular induced absorption due to the presence of excitons. We probe the population of the non‐radiative ground state of para‐excitons via laser‐induced changes of the transmission in the “hydrogenic” 1s‐2p/1s‐3p transition energy range in a stress‐free sample.
