Abstract

Low-lying nonrotational states of deformed nuclei of the transuranium region are investigated using the semimicroscopic approach of the quasiparticle-phonon nuclear model (QPNM). Interactions between quasiparticles and phonons are considered. Collective vibrational states are described in the singlephonon approximation with multipole-multipole residual interaction. Equilibrium quadrupole β2 and hexadecapole β4 deformations of nuclei are calculated using the modified shell two-center model with single-particle levels of the Woods-Saxon potential.
