Abstract

The principal mechanisms of the transient excitation of low-lying nuclear levels in a dense hot plasma generated by an ultrashort pulse of nonrelativistic intensity was estimated. Methods for experimental detection of the excitation of such levels, taking into account the differences in the radiative lifetimes and internal conversion coefficients, are proposed for a series of stable isotopes.
