Abstract

Excitation of the transitions terminating at the levels of the low-lying 3F term in the Pt atom was experimentally studied. Thirty-six excitation cross sections of PtI spectral lines in the spectral range from 197 to 417 nm were measured at an exciting-electron energy of 30 eV. Eleven optical excitation functions were detected in the electron energy range from 0 to 200 eV. Possible channels of excitation are discussed.
