Abstract
AbstractThe role of local field corrections in the linear response of the crystal electron system is investigated using Green's function technique. The macroscopic conductivity can be calculated directly from the solution of a Bethe‐Salpeter equation containing in addition to the screened direct an unscreened exchange interaction, the latter being of pure local field type. The formalism is applied to the Frenkel exciton theory.
