Abstract

The variation in excess thermodynamic properties such as molar volume, viscosity, dielectric constant, Gibbs energy of activation of flow, and surface tension have been determined for {ethylene carbonate (EC)+dimethyl carbonate (DMC)} and {propylene carbonate (PC)+dimethyl carbonate (DMC)}, as a function of mole fraction over the entire composition range, atT=298.15 K or 313.15 K. Polynomial regressions have been fitted with the results. From all these results, qualitative and semi-quantitative information has been obtained about the strength and nature of the interactions between the molecules.
