Abstract

Excess Sludge was disintegrated by combined effects of ultrasonic and mechanical treatment. Investigation experiments were carried out to disintegrate excess sludge by combined both treatment methods. As results, the optimal disintegration effect was obtained by 6min ultrasonic treatment combined with 7min mechanical treatment, and DDCOD was 43.48%, SCOD/E S was 0.52. Under the same energy consumption condition (E S was 7053.3 kJ/kg·TS and 7038.0 kJ/kg·TS, relatively), disintegration rate DDCOD of combined treatment method was increased by 16.70% when compared with that of either of the methods. So, it was concluded that higher efficient disintegration effect could be obtained by combined effects of ultrasonic and mechanical treatment.
