Abstract

Experimental results are reported at 298.15 K for excess molar volumes VE and excess molar enthalpies HE for binary mixtures of methanol, ethanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, and 2-butanol with diisopropyl ether (DIPE) and/or with dibutyl ether (DBE). A vibrating-tube densitometer was used to determine VE, and HE was measured using a quasi-isothermal flow calorimeter. The applicability of the extended real associated solution model has been investigated for describing the experimental excess properties presented as well as literature data of alkanol−ether mixtures containing DIPE and DBE.
