Abstract
Abstract Excess molar volumes (VE ) excess viscosities (η E ) and excess energies of activation for viscous flow (ΔG∗E) have been obtained for the 1-propanol and 2-propanol + methylacetate systems at 298.15 K, over the whole concentration range. The results of VE are discussed in terms of the influence of interaction between components and the Prigogine-Flory theory was used to explain the observed behavior. The predictive abilities of a few of the existing equations for mixtures viscosities have also been compared.
