Abstract

The excess molar enthalpies H E m of the binary liquid mixtures butyl acetate + n-heptane, + n-octane, + n-nonane, + n-decane, + n-undecane, + n-dodecane, + n-tridecne and + n-tetradecane have been determined at atmospheric pressure and 298.15 K as a function of mole fraction in a Calvet microcalorimeter. All the mixtures studied exhibit positive excess molar enthalpies which increase with the length of the n-alkane chain. The results are satisfactorily predicted by Kehiaian's model.
