Abstract

A flow calorimeter has been constructed to determine both negative and positive excess molar enthalpies H m E over a temperature range from 303 to 393 K and at pressures up to 4 MPa. This study forms the first part of series and is concerned with excess molar enthalpies of (ammonia + argon) over the whole range of compositions at temperatures of 313.15, 323.15, and 333.15 K and pressures of about 0.8 and 1.1 MPa (in two cases also at 1.4 MPa). Excess molar heat capacities 〈 C p,m E〉 and values of ΔH m E Δp have been calculated and are discussed.
