Abstract

The excess electron mobility in liquid ethane was measured as a function of temperature between −50°C and +26°C. The mobility increased strongly with temperature reaching 40 cm 2V −1s −1. The dependence of the drift velocity on the electric field strength exhibited a sublinear relationship at higher values of the field strength. The magnitude of the mobility and the field dependence suggest that the electron transport proceeds in extended states.
