Abstract
This work reported a Laves phase-strengthened high-entropy alloy, featured by high-density Laves phase particles uniformly distributed within a face-centered cubic matrix. The pinning effect from these fine Laves phase particles on matrix grain growth and dislocation gliding results in extraordinary microstructure stability and mechanical properties. Additionally, the alloy demonstrates superior oxidation resistance, attributed to the formation of a Cr/Si-rich oxide film and beneficial effects from the Laves phase.
