Abstract
• On February 15, I was named by CEC Executive Director [eptha V. Greer as editor of Exceptional Children for a three year term effective July 1, 1984. Within a week following that appointment, I received two unsigned sympathy cards. My best guess is that they were sent by Jeptha and June Jordan, the most recent editor of the journal. I've now been asked to share my thoughts about the direction of the journal over the next few years.
