Abstract

Experimental examples are given which allow the application of stochastic jump models. Electron hopping in mixed valence minerals leads to electric field gradient and isomer shift fluctuations which can be monitored over a wide temperature range. Correlated jump motion and electric field gradient fluctuations are demonstrated to occur in iron doped β-NbH0.78 and for the motion of iron in FeMo6S8.
