Abstract
Earlier this year some nursing students and City & Hackney Community Health Council asked questions about the way medical students were taught to examine women under general anaesthetic in gynaecoligical operating theatres. The nursing students objected in particular to the numbers of students who were asked to examine an individual patient and the lack of respect for unconscious patients.
