Abstract

The structure of neutron rich even-even ${}^{150\ensuremath{-}164}$Sm nuclei is investigated in the framework of deformed Hartree-Fock, Skyrme Hartree-Fock $+$ BCS, and relativistic mean-field formalisms. We analyze the bulk as well as the microscopic properties of these nuclei to investigate the proposed ``island of stability'' near the neutron drip line for $N=100,Z\ensuremath{\approx}62$.
