Abstract
ABSTRACT This study interrogates the experiences of school heads and teachers regarding ethical conduct on “unhu/ubuntu” in primary and secondary schools, amidst the current socio-political and economic turbulences prevailing in Zimbabwe. Two primary and two secondary schools in Marondera District were used. Data were generated through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires. The findings suggested that the current turbulences drastically compromised the position of educators regarding Ubuntu and ethical leadership, making it very difficult, if not impossible for school heads and teachers, to practice Unhulized leadership. The study recommends an Unhulized multi-faceted and multi-sectoral approach to create an enabling environment in these schools.
