Abstract

The Paper examines the landmark decision of British House of Lords Pepper v. Hart which dealt with use of parliamentary materials in interpretation of statutes in the current context. It analyses the background and aftermath of the decision based on existing literature and analysis as well as recent cases which reflect the position of courts while applying the principles enunciated in the decision.
