Abstract
In this work, male white mice (Mus musculus) are used to test the analgesic effects of Jeruju leaf infusion (Acanthus ilicifolius L.). Jeruju, or Acanthus ilicifolius, has long been used for its possible medicinal benefits, which include pain alleviation. The experimental group was given Jeruju leaf infusion at different concentrations, whereas the control group was given a placebo. Standard pain-inducing stimuli were used to gauge the analgesic effect, and the responses were noted and examined. Initial results point to a dose-dependent response in the experimental group, suggesting that Jeruju leaf infusion may have analgesic properties. In comparison to the control group, the data showed a decrease in pain responses, which was statistically significant. More research into the underlying processes and active ingredients that give rise to the analgesic effect that has been observed is.
