Abstract

A questionnaire of one open-ended question regarding the qualities of the ideal EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher of the English Conversation Laboratory course was administered to Ill Chinese Culture University students taking that course in the 1997-98 academic year. The students' opinions were sorted, classified, analyzed and examined to draw findings as to their perception of the qualities of the ideal teacher of the EFL Conversation Laboratory course. Finally, several intriguing points of conclusion were drawn from the results of the questionnaire.
