Abstract

Extensive project issues continue to occur in Malaysian landscape architecture projects due to ineffective treatment action taken despite the ability to predict and treat the issues beforehand. This study examines comparative treatment action between predicted project issues and forecasted project risk in landscape architecture projects. The data collection was conducted through a semi-structured interview with twenty-four landscape architect professionals based in the Klang Valley region of Malaysia. Then the data were analysed using the content and thematic analysis method. The study found a contrasting treatment action between predicted project issues and forecasted project risk. The predicted project issues were treated passively, despite treating them with effective treatment strategies causing project issues bound to happen. This finding will be a lesson learnt for landscape architecture practitioners to evaluate current practice and find the best management system application to manage project issues effectively.
