Abstract

Metallic powders and polymer granules are used on an increasing scale for producing strong and dense materials. The initial material for producing components from these materials consists of solid particles surrounded with voids filled with gas or a solid binder. In compacting, each particle changes its configuration. The dense specimen may be produced from elements of the same form, with a high density, without voids filling the entire space. 24 types of polyhedrons/parallelohedrons [i] may be used for this filling; of these polyhedrons, the suitable ones are the cube, the hexagonal centrally symmetric prism, the dodecahedron, cubo-octahedron. The models of the porous body may be produced in accordance with these polyhedrons [2].
