Abstract
Using modern modelling techniques buildings are constructed as strong as necessary but also as weak as allowed. Therefore it might be interesting to verify certain technical conditions like the quality of the structural concrete by the non-distructive GPR-Method. In concrete an eIectromagnetic wave propagates with a velocity of about 0.10 m/ns to 0.16 m/ns. This corresponds to wavelengths between 0.10 m and 0.16 m. So when investigating concrete buildings with GPR one of the main problems is, that the spatial dimension of the objects of interest are often of the same order of magnitude as the wavelength used.
