Abstract

A simple model of the persistent current in the presence of a many-body interaction in a mesoscopic ring is presented. The Bethe ansatz approach is used to find exact solutions. Cases of both the absence and presence of impurities are solved and compared. It is indicated that neither impurities nor hard-core interaction affect the persistent current explicitly if there is a large number of electrons in the ring.
