Abstract

The problem of the Ising spin glass is reformulated in terms of new spins, naturally related to the Edwards-Anderson order parameter. It is shown that in terms of the new spins the system is ferromagnetic, providing a simple explanation of possible spin glass ordering. This result is used to obtain upper bounds on spin glass correlations as well as on the transition temperature.
