Abstract

The exact electron-electron interaction energies in quantum dots (QDs) with parabolic potentials have been calculated and studied. On the basis of calculation results, two-electron spectra in QDs are shown. It is found that the spectra dramatically change with variation of the size and field. The spin-singlet-spin-triplet oscillations with the magnetic field are clearly shown for two-electron ground states in QDs. The variations of spectra with a field are quite different for different dot-sizes, presenting the magnetic “fingerprint” of QDs. These phenomena are induced by the electron-electron interactions in QDs.
