Abstract

In this paper, an exact order reduction approach based on real eigenvalues will be proposed for the Fornasini- Marchesini state-space model of multidimensional (ra-D) systems. Specifically, earlier results on the connection between eigenvalues and reducibility are generalized and applied to the exact order reduction for Fornasini-Marchesini state-space models. Moreover, corresponding examples are given to illustrate the details as well as the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
