Abstract
By introducing the pseudo-spin variable and using the fundamental spin arrangement (FSA) method, the ground-state (GS) phase diagrams are obtained exactly for the one-dimensional(1-d) mixed-spin ANNNI model, in which two kinds of spins, μ= 1 2 and S=1(or 3 2 ), are aligned alternatively. The GS phase diagram of S=1 model with the single-ion anisotropy, − DS i 2 is also determined exactly.
