Abstract
In this paper we obtain the exact and asymptotic solution of the Boltzmann equation which governs the stationary energy distribution of neutrons slowing down in an infinite homogeneous medium in the case of a general capture law. Specific results are given for particular cases of variation of the cross sections versus the neutron velocity.
