Abstract
It is considered of sufficient interest to report this single case of Ewing's sarcoma in a young Nigerian because it is a rare tumour, and indeed in the available literature no case has been described in an African. Ewing's sarcoma is characterised by medullary destruction with cortical sclerosis and soft tissue swelling. In some cases, however, the earliest radiographic features may be cortical sclerosis, but Cohen, Brown and Grice (1953) note that this is seldom seen by the radiologist excepting in flat bones or small bones, where it may persist and suggest an aseptic necrosis. The clinical findings and radiological appearances in a young African are described here.
